The challenge

Emixa, a leading Siemens PLM partner, came to us with an event that was growing in reputation but needed a digital platform that could match its ambitions. Their annual Digital University had the potential to become Europe's premier gathering for product lifecycle management professionals, but the existing registration system wasn't giving the event the visibility it deserved.

The challenge was clear: grow footfall year on year whilst managing the complexities of workshop capacity, sponsor visibility, and user expectations. The existing setup made it difficult for attendees to understand the full value of the event, navigate the agenda, and register for specific workshops - all critical elements for an event of this scale and sophistication.

Most importantly, Emixa needed a solution that would showcase the energy and success of previous events, give sponsors the recognition they deserved, and make the registration process so seamless that it removed any barriers to attendance. They needed a digital experience that would reflect the professionalism of the event itself.

We knew that Digital University needed a registration form that would function as a dedicated digital destination, helping to inspire, inform, and convert prospective attendees. Our strategy centred on creating a microsite that would stand apart from the main Emixa website, giving the event the spotlight it needed whilst providing sophisticated functionality behind the scenes.

We began by developing a creative approach that would bring previous events to life. Through compelling statistics, engaging video content, and event imagery, we built a narrative that demonstrated the event’s value and credibility, showcasing to potential attendees why the Digital University was an unmissable opportunity. 

Our UX design focused on creating a single-page registration journey that would guide users through the entire process without friction. We knew that every extra click or moment of confusion would cost registrations, so we optimised ruthlessly for clarity and ease.

A seamless digital experience

Our redesign transformed the Digital University experience into a single, intuitive registration journey where users could explore the complete agenda, understand workshop offerings, and select their preferences within one seamless flow, whilst statistics and video content from previous years built credibility and captured the event’s energy.

Behind the scenes, we built a sophisticated yet flexible platform that puts Emixa in complete control. The system allows them to monitor registration volumes per workshop in real-time, set capacity limits, and manage attendees effectively. Most importantly, we designed the content management system to evolve alongside the event so that Emixa can easily update details, add sponsors, and refresh content year after year without technical support. Whether attendees register from their desk or mobile, the experience remains consistently excellent, and the platform adapts effortlessly to each year’s iteration.
