Team Rawww Do Afternoon Tea at Coombe Abbey

As part of our summer of celebrations, Team Rawww headed over to the picturesque, Coombe Abbey Hotel for a truly delightful afternoon tea. After a busy couple of weeks, it was a welcome treat for the team (especially Alison, who hasn’t stopped!). With beautiful weather to match the enchanting surroundings, we were welcomed in to the truly mesmerising Garden Restaurant by warm staff and a chilled glass of Prosecco.

Unfortunately we couldn’t invite all of you, so to help give you an idea of the brilliant day we all had we’ve put together a collection of some of the best moments. Enjoy…

To begin, we ordered our preferred afternoon tea. Coombe Abbey do a variety of options, including the Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea (which includes scotch eggs and half a pint of ale) and the Abbott’s Afternoon Tea (think potted peach melba and cream cakes). Maria, Sophie and Emily went for the Abbott’s Afternoon Tea, and the rest of team opted for the more savoury Gentleman’s Tea.

From lashings of clotted cream and sweet local jam, to succulent, miniature hamburgers and locally-sourced pork pies, there were plenty of tasty delights to enjoy.

Maria, Sophie and Emily were more than happy with the incredible selection of sweets- they all loved the banana bread with peanut butter icing!

On top of the amazing food, the decor was a real treat for the eyes, and we were all taken aback by how beautiful the hotel is.

After the food was eaten, we were able to enjoy some quality team-time. There were plenty of laughs, tea and sips of Prosecco!

As the restaurant emptied, so did our tea cups, and off we went to enjoy a beautiful weekend of sunshine.

Fred, Alison and Emily decided to stay behind to walk off all of the tasty goodies, and were wowed by the regal surroundings and nearby woods.

We all enjoyed a lovely afternoon at Coombe Abbey Hotel, and can’t wait for our next day out. Apparently, there are currently talks of a trip to Tate, in London – so watch this space!
